Sunset Wedding Kiss at Lauxmont FarmsAndrew and Jessica held their romantic York County wedding on a beautiful evening at Lauxmont Farms. Towards the end of the wedding, we went outside to capture some sunset portraits. This romantic photo of them kissing along the wooden fence was taken just before the sun disappeared behind the sloping hillside. It was the perfect moment, the perfect lighting, and the perfect pose and the bride and groom were thrilled with the result. As I do with all of my clients, I like to take them to a beautiful location, pose them in it, and then ask them to relax and enjoy each other. I have found that this is a great way to capture the newlyweds’ natural emotions and expressions along with the romance of the moment. The lighting in this wedding portrait is completely natural. From the yellow flash of the sun itself, to the way it shines off of their hair, to the hazy glow it casts on the rest of this portrait, this sunset lighting could not have been better. The dark wooden fence was a nice, rustic feature to have in the background. I took this photo at an angle to add interest and a sense of motion. The kissing bride and groom are made the focal point because they are in focus while the beautiful landscape is slightly blurred, and because their white wedding attire stands out against the darker backdrop. Lauxmont Farms was an elegant location for Andrew and Jessica’s wedding. This venue boasts a spectacular 360-degree view of the countryside’s rolling hills, the farm’s impressive wooden-fenced pastures, and a breathtaking view of the Susquehanna River. It was easy to see why this spectacular venue was featured in National Geographic Magazine. Lauxmont Farms boasts many charming and rustic features including a cobblestone courtyard, a large whitewashed barn, beautifully kept gardens, and seemingly endless lines of wooden fences. All of these features offered many natural and beautiful locations for exceptional wedding portraits and I was grateful for the opportunity to photograph here.
