After their sweet wedding ceremony in a small church in York County, PA, I had the opportunity to photograph Josiah, a marine, and his bride Brianna in a park overlooking the Susquehanna River. This shy groom and beaming bride were a delight to work with and we had fun exploring the park’s variety of elegant settings. This sunny, spring day was perfect for taking romantic wedding portraits of the happy couple. The newlyweds really enjoyed this brief time to themselves right after the ceremony and had fun taking a variety of candid and posed portraits as they took in the excitement of being married to one another. I like how their pose of peacefully standing together with the groom gently kissing her forehead is complimented by their quiet setting.
The natural lighting gives off cheerful warmth while the grass and trees encompassing the bride and groom provide a peaceful setting for this romantic portrait. The vibrant greens and yellows in the scenery are well blended so that her bright white dress and his bold black uniform stand prominent. These colors, along with the sunrays beaming towards Brianna’s wedding dress, all naturally direct one’s gaze towards the bride and groom.
Kline’s Run park is in York County and has a beautiful overlook of the Susquehanna River. Although it is a small park, its wooded walking trails and grassy overlooks made it was a lovely location to take romantic wedding portraits. It has private locations for both close-up and wide shots so it was easy to find an elegant setting where we did not have to work around the park’s other guests.
