Fun Groomsmen Photograph, State College, PAOn a beautiful day in State College, Pennsylvania, Justin and his buddies had fun together as they prepared for the wedding ceremony. As they hoisted Justin in the air, their expressions were ones of natural joy and mischief and it was a great opportunity to capture this “guy moment” in a photograph. I think this black and white portrait of the groom and his groomsmen captures the many years of comradery and memories that they share with each other. By taking this portrait in black and white, I sought to give it a sense of nostalgia, as I’m sure they guys were feeling it as they prepared to escort Justin into a new stage of life. Also, by eliminating colors, one’s eyes can pick up on the strength and energy expressed in the groomsmen’s faces as they celebrated Justin’s wedding. This was a fun group of guys to work with and they enjoyed having the opportunity to joke around and strike a silly pose. As I do with all of my clients, I am always looking for a cool and manly portrait of the groom and his groomsmen as both they and the bride enjoy looking back on those fun moments. State College, PA was a picturesque location for wedding party photographs, bridal portraits, and of course bride and groom portraits. The elegance of the setting was well suited for this lovely couple’s photographs. With its towering columns, elegant lamps, and brick walkways, the porch of Penn State’s Old Main Building was a favorite location because of its regal and beauty. Conveniently located on the college’s campus, I would love to have the opportunity to return and photograph more weddings at this elegant site.
