Elegant Wedding Portrait in State College PAIn the midst of a beautiful day in State College, Pennsylvania, Kelly and Justin enjoyed a private moment together after their wedding ceremony. As I do with many of my clients, I took advantage of this beautiful location, posed them in it, and asked them to enjoy themselves while I took photographs. By doing this, I am able to naturally capture the couple’s love and affection for each other. One of my favorite wedding portraits to capture is the moment right before the kiss because it is easy to see the tenderness and love that the newlyweds have for one another. This portrait’s soft colors of light brown, hazy grey, and brick red give it an elegant and antique mood. As the portrait’s darkened edges give way to a brightened center, the viewer’s eyes naturally rest upon the kissing couple. This dark-to-light feature also takes place in how the darkness of the columns, bricks, lamps, and Justin’s suit all are centered around Kelly’s pure-white dress. I also like how the vintage lamp poised above the couple acts as an elegant centerpiece for this portrait. State College, PA was a picturesque location for wedding party photographs, bridal portraits, and of course bride and groom portraits. The elegance of the setting was well suited for this lovely couple’s photographs. With its towering columns, elegant lamps, and brick walkways, the porch of Penn State’s Old Main Building was a regal and beautiful location for this wedding portrait. Conveniently located on the college’s campus, I would love to have the opportunity to return and photograph more weddings at this elegant site.
