Classy Bridal Portrait, Baltimore MarylandHere is a beautiful, romantic bridal portrait of Hannah at a hotel in Baltimore. As she serenely anticipated her shortly-to-come wedding, I was able to capture her gentle expression and enhance it with the use of soft lighting. When she and her bridesmaids finished preparing, I took the opportunity to take them around the hotel to take a mix of fun, serene, and beautiful portraits. As is my custom, I like to capture a mix of both delightfully candid, and elegantly-posed bridal portraits. Hannah’s lacy wedding dress, styled hair, and bright lipstick were all beautifully combined to create her classy appearance. I really enjoy using whatever is at hand, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, and turning it into an elegant and professional-looking part my clients’ portraits. Although the background looks as though it was a backdrop from my studio, it was merely a tastefully colored wall in the lobby of the bride’s hotel. A video light created the perfect lighting that shone evenly and clearly upon her face and the front of her dress, while also creating shadows on her side and back to bring out the dress’s lacy details. The photograph’s plain background and darkened edges cause the bride to stand out and become more captivating to the viewer than if they had not been there. As I do with all of my clients, I sought to draw attention to her romantic expression by posing her hands by her upturned face. Her slightly turned torso, raised arms, and hopeful expression all make this an elegant and iconic bridal pose.
