Bridal Portrait Crowne Plaza Hotel PhiladelphiaHere is a beautiful, window-lit bridal portrait of Alex at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Philadelphia. As she serenely anticipated her shortly-to-come wedding, I was able to capture her gentle expression and enhance it with the use of soft lighting. The nearby window perfectly lit Alex’s expression. As her wedding dress flows around her, both it and light fades to black as they move to the edge of the portrait. This dramatic contrast of light and darkness accentuates the bride’s beauty and adds to the romance. I love how the darkness surrounding the left corner of the photo softly frames the bride and accents the purity of her white dress. Using my Canon 85 1.2 portrait lens, I brought her face into focus while allowing everything else to slowly fade into the background. Both the manipulation of focus and of the light gives this bridal portrait a dream-like effect as the bride-to-be awaits her wedding. Because of its elegance, this is one of my favorite bridal portrait poses and I often use it for brides on their wedding day. The beautiful Crowne Plaza Hotel was conveniently located near the heart of Philadelphia. The friendly staff and their services were very helpful to Alex and her bridal party as they prepared for the special day.
