This wedding party was a fun crowd to work with and they were excited to pose for this portrait. As I do with many of my clients, I placed the bride and groom in the center while positioning the wedding party around them. Although this beautiful portrait is posed, it also has a relaxed appearance because the off-balance ratio of bridesmaids to groomsmen on either side of the newlyweds. I enjoy capturing a mix of both elegantly posed portraits along with fun and candid ones. This is a very beautiful and regal portrait for Hannah and Matt to include in their wedding album. Because their wedding was held in early autumn, Towson Presbyterian Church’s colorful trees and well-groomed lawn created an elegant backdrop for this bridal party’s portrait. The touch of red leaves behind the groom beautifully compliments the bright red of the bridesmaids’ dresses. The green foliage at the photo’s borders provided a naturally dark background that allowed the vibrant colors of the wedding party to pop out of the photo’s center. The gradual brightening from the dark borders to the bride’s white dress achieved my goal of drawing the viewer’s eyes to the smiling focal points of my wedding portraits.
